Brain Performance Management – Neuroscience of Talent Development is the application of the concept of drawing out the potential of the human brain to develop it in line with the development of the organization’s people, whether it is in the matter of Recruitment, Learning and Development, Succession Planning or even in the matter of taking care of health (Wellbeing) in the workplace.

    The challenge of people management

The issue of managing people in an organization is a very challenging issue in this era. Organizations in Thailand and abroad are facing many problems and challenges in many areas, such as:

    • Employee Mental Health : Stress, Anxiety, and Burnout Problems among Employees Due to COVID-19 and Organizational Changes
    • Talent War : Recruiting and retaining talented employees in organizations is an ongoing issue that seems to be on the rise.
    • Employee Experiences : To attract talented and good employees to join or stay with the organization because the new generation is looking for organizations that can provide them with good and interesting experiences.
    • Succession Planning : Many organizations lose good and talented employees and are unable to replace them in time or lack the right methods to develop people.
    • Employee Engagement : The COVID-19 situation due to the changing working environment, whether remote or hybrid work, has also had a significant impact on employees, affecting Employee Engagement.
    • Talent Learning and Development : The learning model for Talent employees or even general employees must change because the old model may not be able to meet the needs anymore. It does not improve the results of individual development as much as it should and cannot produce people in time or meet the needs of the organization.

“Everyone wants to be better, wants to improve themselves, but what kind of method is right for each person?”

The InMind team has conducted studies with experts with experience in clinical psychosocial occupational therapy for both patients and preventive cases, as well as reviewing research and conducting many past research projects. We found that the work from the frontal lobe of the human brain that communicates with different parts of the brain consists of 4 important soft skills: Creativity, Flexibility, Empathy and Leadership. From the research, the Human Brain Mapping process will be able to measure and understand the relationship between soft skills and different locations in the brain that show the relationship with individual personality changes.

InMind has applied proven research methods to conclude that brain wave measurement allows us to know the results of our current physical state assessment that we have the highest potential within according to the position of the brain that sends the electrical potential energy of the nerve cells according to the kinetic energy of 4 brain wave patterns (Alpha, Beta, Delta and Theta Waves) at the millisecond level. We will get 2 main categories as follows:

Brain Performance Management - Neuroscience of Talent Development
The image shows brain wave measurements using an Electroencephalogram (EEG).
    • Talented Brain Performance : The measured brain waves will be converted into values that can show the hidden potential of our brains in the following 4 areas: Creativity, Cognitive Flexibility, Empathy and Leadership. We will understand the potential of our own brains to train our brains, plan for developing work skills and continue living effectively.
    • Mindful Life Balance : Brainwave measurement will also let us know about the health of the brain. We can measure the results in 3 areas: Positive Thinking, Eustress, and Compassion. In addition, we can also measure the results of Growth Mindset, which here Growth Mindset is the sum of Eustress and Compassion.

    Talented Brain Mapping Performance

“If people still have annual health checkups, our brains need health checkups too.”

The Talented Brain Mapping Performance process assesses the potential of the brain at that time. What is the potential of the brain of that person in terms of Creativity, Cognitive Flexibility, Empathy, Leadership and Mindful Life Balance?

If that person does not utilize the full potential of their brain, they may not be able to create successful work. The results of Talented Brain Mapping Performance are like an annual physical examination, except that it measures the brain potential of each individual to provide information to design a Learning and Development Program, including a Succession Planning Program that is appropriate for each individual, for the goal of leading to learning and development with true well-being.

“The brain has potential, but if it is not put to good use, there will be no results.”

For example, an employee has a very high potential for creativity, but the current job that he is doing does not have the type of work that allows him to use his creativity ability. The results of the work may lack the dimension of creativity.

In addition, there are many benefits from brain potential assessment, especially in the matter of Self-Health Maintenance, which will allow us to understand the condition of our own brain. We will be able to live a lively life, have a motor nervous system that can listen and see agilely, conserve energy to be tough, fight, and be able to manage fatigue appropriately in every problematic situation in life, have a flexible mood, think positively, have accurate memory, and also help prevent premature brain degeneration.

Don’t let it be known when it is too late. Because if we wait until the body is in chronic pain and fatigue, for example, Money Worrying Depressive Anxiety symptoms that accumulate into Empathy Fatigue will affect love, understanding, communication, and development of the mind and growth of both oneself and those around us in society and family.

InMind uses a design process published in leading journals, which is a model for developing mirror neurons or brain networks that mimic nature and discovers brain networks that are important for cultivating good deeds in 4 characteristics, collectively called Vicarious Learning Coupled With Cognitive Empathy, consisting of Creativity, Flexibility, Empathy (cognitive), & Leadership, which have changed for the better. If brain waves are measured again after 45 days of brain training, it will significantly predict Talented Performance Capacity according to international standards.

In the process of InMind, we will use a brain wave measuring device in 1 day to compare the functioning of the self-aware brain (Resting Brain) and see the potential of the brain (Talented/Talenting Brain) while thinking positively, speaking in 3 tones and recording sound through the 4Voices application, resulting in the Growth Mindset value that comes from the sum of Eustress and Compassion that reflects Brain Health with changes in brain waves from within the mind to outside the body or Mindful Life Balance, making it possible to predict numbers with statistical significance called Functional Brain Capacity or Talented Brain Performance.

There are many examples of brain potential utilization processes, such as Talented or Talenting Brain Exercise, and then measuring the changes in brain waves by comparing before and after to see how Brain Health with Happy Workplace is.

Refer to the Social Emotional Learning Model that says, “If we know that our brain has potential, then use it by participating in valuable activities in life, 10% with a team of Talented Brains, which will lead to Team Competency with the goal of 90% without Coaching. But if we can take care of ourselves to be healthy according to the principles of occupational therapy, which are, “When we have Personal Causation, we will cultivate good habits with 108 emotions, we will learn to develop happiness, the ability to live a balanced life, or Life Balance.

Therefore, if we do not do Early Detection by measuring our own brain waves to make us know both the health dimension and the potential dimension that is hidden without having the opportunity to use it in real work, which is called Empathic Distress Fatigue, which can be tested by testing memory scores, happiness through prioritizing important life activities, choosing to listen to two brain waves, and testing positive thoughts through tone of voice, which from the experiment found that the human brain will accumulate positive stressful learning experiences (Eustress) since being a child at the age of 8 until working age no more than 50 years old and compassion (Compassion) to communicate internally as memories for the mind to grow, which is called Growth Mindset.

In the near future, if brain health measurement is increasingly used in organizations, we will see personalized brain exercise guidelines based on statistics. If we exercise our brains continuously for 45 days, we will see an overall improvement in brain function by 60-70%.

However, it depends on the examination of the current brain potential of that person, whether it is used too much or too little. It also involves the basic emotions, a healthy lifestyle, and the habit of thinking positively, being flexible, and always helping others of that person.

Because from many current research studies, it has been confirmed that exercises that focus on training the brain have many benefits, such as being able to increase memory, problem-solving, creativity, and prevent depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia, and stress leading to premature brain degeneration. These issues are becoming very important problems for people of working age.

“Our brain’s potential is greater than we think. If we know and understand it, we can use it effectively.”
